This project involved the renovation of an existing Southern Gas Company Headquarters and training facility. The program called for a retail/office/storage use of the existing 34,000 sf structure which is composed of a visually strong cast-in-place concrete shell. IN addition, the 1929 structure required a structural analysis and upgrade to conform with current seismic requirements. The existing window openings were enlarged to accommodate storefront glazing and integrated signage. For cover and color an oxide-red metal canopy was added to the structure. In addition, colored steel stairs, walkways and handrails served to coordinate the design.
